The Molecular Basis of Alzheimer's Disease (2009)
This project was focused on creating 3D visual representations, showing the development of Alzheimer's disease at a molecular level. It is based on the research of Professor Patrick C. Fraering. Prof. Fraering is head of the Laboratory of Molecular and Cellular Biology of Alzheimer's Disease at the Life Science department and Brain Mind Institute of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne - EPFL.
Technology: The ScienceVisuals in-house ray tracing and simulation engine BioInspire, researched and developped by Dr. Pablo de Heras Ciechomski, was used to create models, animations, renderings and special effects. This was our first project that used ray tracing exclusively.
